Grade XII students of National Public School, Singanayakanahalli, conducted a special assembly in celebration of World Environment Day on 05/06/2025, Thursday. The assembly aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage sustainable practices across all age groups.
A thought-provoking skit performance by Grade 12 students, emphasizing the harmful effects of plastic usage and promoting eco-friendly alternatives, presentation of a lively song and dance by Grade 7 students themed around clean air and creation of pollution free earth were highlight of the morning assembly.
Our youngest learners from the Montessori section, dressed adorably in green attire, contributed by watering plants, instilling early habits of care for nature. Meanwhile, Grade I and II students took part in a hands-on activity by sowing fenugreek seeds, learning about the importance of growing their own food.
Creative expression took centre stage with Grades III to IX, who showcased their talents by creating beautiful art pieces using coconut shells, green leaves, art on white pebbles, exhibiting eco-friendly products, impactful posters highlighting environmental issues, penning inspiring slogans reinforced the value of recycling and reusing natural materials.
The celebration extended beyond school grounds as students from Grades X to XII actively participated in a walkathon, engaging the community and even administering an environmental oath to the general public at local supermarkets, urging everyone to do their part in protecting the planet.
