Student Council Election and Investiture Ceremony

The Student Council Election was held at National Public School, Singanayakanahalli on 12th July 2024, Friday. The objective of appointing the Student Council is to provide a platform for students to develop their leadership qualities. The Student Council serves as the voice of the student body, facilitating the sharing of ideas, interests, and concerns within the school community.
During the preliminary round, students interested in standing for elections were invited to submit their nominations for various positions. In the second round, the Heads and Supervisors selected candidates based on their merit and the established selection criteria, which included excellence in academics, sports, overall behavior within the school premises. Candidates are shortlisted for various positions to contest in the election.
Campaigning took place for a period of 1 week, where candidates for various positions presented their manifestos in speeches and created attractive posters to persuade students to vote for them.
The final stage of the process involved students from grades VI to XII to cast their votes. This electoral process provided students with the opportunity to witness and exercise their fundamental right to vote. The polling process was democratic and anonymous, with students exercising their franchise by electing their preferred candidates through voting system.
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2023-20234 was held at National Public School, Singanayakanahalli on 7th August 2024. The Investiture Ceremony was presided by the school President - Dr. Geetha Shashikumar and Dr. Shashikumar. The occasion was graced by the school Principal Mrs. Madhusmitha Patra and the Deputy Head Academics Mrs. Anuradha Prabhakar.
The ceremony was held with prodigious zeal and zest. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and solemn prayer invoking the blessings of the almighty god. The newly elected school student council members were invested with sashes and badges. The leaders walked with pride and enthusiasm to shoulder the new responsibility.
Principal of the school Mrs. Madhusmitha Patra administered the OATH to the students and motivated the student council members with her inspiring speech. Her words of wisdom and thoughts about leadership were inspiring and filled all the newly elected leaders and everyone in the hall with energy, enthusiasm, and courage to face the world and achieve their endeavours. The student council took the pledge to hold the school motto “ Reach Out, Reach High and Reach Beyond” in high esteem. The school Deputy Head Academics Mrs. Anuradha Prabhakar addressed the new leaders, she reiterated that the student council posts were about responsibility and authority guided them to be worthy role models for their peers by being exemplary in their disposition and demeanor. The school captain Krishay promised to be a leader who would be a torch bearer along with the other members of the student council, of all the values that the school stands for with high integrity. The event concluded with vote of thanks Aditya of Grade 10th, followed by our National Anthem. The objective of the event was to espouse the confidence, develop the sense of leadership and responsibility.
